Nestled in the middle of these four outstanding wineries is base-camp, with comfortable, air- conditioned bedrooms, a small en-suite bathroom each and a well set up camp kitchen. Think up-market camping, sleeping safely surrounded by nature, sheep grazing in the paddocks and vineyards growing wines you will taste during your stay.


The Ultimate Barossa Experience


Day 1 : Welcome

After settling in a little, stroll through the walled garden into the Hutton Vale Farm cellar door for a private wine tasting. Learn about all they grow and make on the farm in a caring and sustainable manner. Return to your accommodation for a night in or take a short 10-minute drive into the township of Angaston for dinner. Optional: Be picked up by the free shuttle service to Eden Valley Hotel for a relaxed dinner.


Day 2: Henschke Tour

After a leisurely start the following day, make the short eight-minute drive to explore over 150 years of family winemaking history at Henschke.  See how the six generations of family have contributed to the success of Henschke through your guided tour of the historical working winery, and gain a greater understanding of the family’s unique history in this Eden Valley region where they have been making wine since 1868. In the intimate surrounds of the Henschke Cellar Door, within the stone walls of the original 1950s Woolstore and 1860s Grain Barn, allow your host to take you through a journey of Henschke wines, watched over by portraits of Henschke forebears.


Day 2: Lunch @Flaxman

Then take a 14-minute drive toLunch @ Flaxman’. A unique opportunity to enjoy a private tasting and lunch prepared by the winemaker and Season 6 Masterchef contestant, Col Sheppard.  On arrival you will be guided through a wine tasting with Col, where you can learn about the winemaking process before you sit down at a long table overlooking the vineyard to enjoy a leisurely 2 course lunch of seasonal produce.


Day 2: Back to Hutch Hilton

Head back to the Hutch Hilton for a youthful kick up of your heels by the open fire in the camp kitchen before sinking into a comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep.


Day 3: Angaston Brunch

Start day three with a walk on the farm, cook your own breakfast or head into Angaston for an early brunch before heading to Yalumba for the ‘Unlocked experience’.


Day 3: Yalumba Tour

Your experience begins in the architecturally designed Wine Room with a short history of Yalumba’s Hill-Smith family. Enjoy a private tour of the grounds, historic buildings, the unique Yalumba Cooperage and iconic Signature Cellar along with the unique Tank 11 & 12. Your tour culminates in tasting of Yalumba’s finest wines in the stunning Wine Room, hosted by a Yalumba Ambassador whilst sharing a Cooper’s Platter of local artisanal produce.

Henschke

Henschke is recognised for its rich heritage, innovative spirit and commitment to handcrafting exceptional wines for over 150 years. The Henschke family grapegrowing and winemaking tradition spans six generations, from sustainably grown vineyards in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills.

Founder Johann Christian Henschke and his son Paul Gotthard sold their first wines in 1868. Fourth-generation Cyril was one of Australia's visionary pioneers of single-vineyard, single-varietal wines; with Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone now renowned the world-over

Today is fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and his viticulturist wife Prue at the helm, ably assisted by sixth-generation Johann, Justine and Andreas. The Henschke family continue to craft their wines with a focus on purity and sense of place; leading the way with biodynamic practices, complemented by traditional winemaking.

Flaxman Wines

Fi & Col Sheppard established Flaxman Wines in 2004 when they purchased the property and made the vine-change move across from Melbourne.   

Their vineyard sits in the very beautiful and picturesque Eden Valley in the Barossa and includes 3 acres of Riesling, 2.5 acres of Shiraz and 1/2 acre of Semillon, all planted in 1929. 

For Colin and Fiona Sheppard, a desire to combine their passion for food and wine has led them to create a world-class boutique wine and food experience for their visitors to enjoy.

Hutton Vale Farm

Hutton Vale Farm is set amidst an impressive natural Barossa landscape. Pioneers of the region, the Angas family produce fine wine, exceptional on-farm accommodation, quality wool, free-range natural pasture lamb and hand-made artisan produce.

Hutton Vale Farm is an award-winning boutique wine producer from its Eden Valley vineyard growing classic varieties; Riesling, Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. The old vines were originally sourced from some of Australia’s oldest plantings.

Hutton Vale Farm was first established in 1843 by John Howard Angas. The Stone Cellar accommodation honours his name, with his initials, J.H.A.

Yalumba


Yalumba has been fiercely independent, family-owned winemakers since 1849, showcasing the best of the Barossa. For six generations Yalumba has embraced the magnificent unknown, letting the land lead the way, and growing vines with as little interference as possible. Yalumba started with the planting of vines in 1849, by founder Samuel Smith. Under the moonlight, in the heart of the Barossa, he set in place not just the first of many generations of vines, but a philosophy that still holds true today. A genuine respect for the land and a willingness to venture into the unknown.

Yalumba has always had a deep connection to the Barossa. The long-term vision is manifested in the marble and sandstone Clocktower; a solid monument to their commitment to the region. The Yalumba Cooperage also shows this passion - where the proud tradition of crafting oak barrels in continued and the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
